Thank you for taking the time to learn more about LMBH Legal Services, LLC. I am Lisa M. Burkhart, a Pennsylvania real estate attorney specializing in common-interest communities, including Condominiums, Cooperatives, and Homeowners Associations. I have represented hundreds of Condominiums, Cooperatives, and Homeowners Associations in Southwestern Pennsylvania throughout my career and have more than nineteen (19) years of experience representing communities in Allegheny, Washington, Beaver, Butler, Westmoreland, and Somerset Counties. I seek to nurture the relationships with my clients. I represent numerous Associations today, which I have represented since I became licensed to practice law in 2005. I am incredibly proud and humbled by these long-term relationships. Our office is in Hampton Township, but I regularly meet clients outside the office for convenience.
I have extensive legal experience in representing Associations in matters including drafting, amendment, and interpretation of governing documents, application, and understanding of the applicable Pennsylvania common interest community statutes, adjudication of violations and enforcement of governing documents, collection of delinquent assessments, drafting of notices and meeting procedures, and advising Boards as to legal authority and fiduciary duties. I endeavor to provide thorough and effective legal representation to all Associations while speaking in terms that clients can understand. I attempt to create a collaborative relationship between our office and representatives of the Association. In representing Associations, I have long-term experience with many large property management firms in this area. I have provided legal guidance to Associations related to execution, interpretation, and termination of management agreements.
In addition to planned community law, I practice general real estate law, collections, estate planning, and estate administration.
I pride myself on providing individualized services to meet each client’s needs. I have strong ethical beliefs and a professional, conciliatory approach to all matters. I strongly believe in treating all individuals with respect, whether they are clients, opposing parties, or opposing legal counsel.
Before opening my practice, LMBH Legal Services, LLC, I worked for Brandt, Milnes & Rea, P.C., a law firm in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. First as a Legal Assistant and then as an Associate Attorney upon graduating from Duquesne School of Law in 2005, I gained vast knowledge and experience in many aspects of the law, with a particular focus on the representation of planned communities. I am forever appreciative and grateful to my longtime mentors at Brandt, Milnes & Rea, P.C., Fred C. Jug, Jr., and the late Henry E. Rea, Jr.
I am a proud member of the Keystone Chapter of the Community Association Institute (CAI), the Allegheny County Bar Association, and the Pennsylvania Bar Association.
